Liquidity shapes

On the concentrated models, a position isn't one indivisible band: it's liquidity spread across many small buckets (bins on Meteora DLMM, ticks on the Uniswap concentrated models). How you distribute your deposit across those buckets is its shape, and lp.xyz lets you pick the shape and lay it down in a single transaction rather than placing each bucket by hand.

Curvemiddle-heavy
Bid-Askedge-heavy
The same range and the same money, distributed three ways. These bars are drawn from shapeWeights, the function the transaction builder itself splits your deposit with.

The three shapes

Each shape gives a different answer to the same question: where in the range should the money sit? You choose one, set the range, and the builder distributes your deposit across the buckets accordingly.

Spot
Even. The deposit is spread uniformly across every bucket in the range: the same amount of liquidity at each price. A neutral, all-purpose default when you have no strong view on where price will sit.
Curve
Concentrated in the middle. More liquidity is packed near the center of the range and it tapers toward the edges, so your capital works hardest where you expect price to spend most of its time. Tighter effective exposure, more fee capture near the anchor.
Bid / Ask
Weighted toward the edges. Liquidity builds up toward one or both ends of the range rather than the center. Useful for accumulation or exit ladders, where you want more depth the further price travels in a direction.

One transaction, many buckets

The point of shaping is that it's a single build. On Meteora DLMM the whole ladder (N bins in your chosen distribution) goes on-chain in one transaction, and PancakeSwap Infinity bin pools take the distribution the same native way. On the tick models (Uniswap v3/v4, PancakeSwap v3, Infinity CL) the shape is built as a ladder of separate positions minted together. You pick the shape and range in the provide form, the SDK lays out the buckets, and your wallet signs once.

Shapes vs walls

A wall is single-sided liquidity parked at one price to defend or accumulate. A shape is how a two-sided range is distributed. They're complementary: a shape decides the profile of a range position, a wall is a deliberately lopsided position with a different job. Both are built on the same concentrated bins-and-ticks machinery.

Available on the bucketed models

Shaping applies where the app can lay liquidity into buckets: Meteora DLMM (native SDK strategies) and Uniswap v3/v4 (a one-transaction tick ladder). Orca and Raydium CLMM are concentrated too, but take a single range, so they get no shape picker. A full-range or constant-product position (a Raydium CPMM add, a plain v2 pair) has nothing to shape: the liquidity is uniform across all prices by construction, so the provide form only offers shapes where the model can honor them.
